This is the only Cardiology Exam available for NPs/PAs! There is no time limit to take the exams online after the bulk seats are purchased. If a nurse practitioner or physician assistant fails the exam, they may take it a second time for a small proctor fee of $150 that will be paid directly to ABCM, who will then provide the examinee a second voucher to re-enter the exam. All Exams are either proctored at your place of residence or at a physical location of our selection. Exams cannot be taken from ones place of employment or any other unauthorized location. Knowledge is the Key Requirement We do not recommend this exam for beginners. We recommend that Cardiac Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants apply themselves to the study of Cardiology and have at least 2 years on the job before attempting to take the level IV Exam (those that have been Cardiac Nurses prior to becoming an NP or PA will have a better chance of passing and may not need 2 years practice as an NP or PA. Success depends knowledge and good testing skills. Limit your study to adult Cardiology. We do not offer an online prep Course for this Exam as yet but expect to in the near future. We usually host one or two review courses per year for NP/PA groups however this year's events are cancelled till further notice that we can gather in large groups. Once you have signed up and paid for the CVNP-BC Level IV Exam, you will receive a detailed study list for this Exam. We recommend that you study online by using references from known sites that were published within the past 5 years. You may also want to purchase a comprehensive Cardiology reference book published within the last 5 years; we have one listed on our site under More...References in the main menu panel. Application for the ExamExam Application - To apply for the CVNP-BC Level IV Exam, follow this Exam Application link, complete and submit the Application and make your payment.
After you submit your application, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access our Exam Scheduler online. How to Access the CVNP-BC or CVPA-BC Level IV Certification Exam - You will be given access to the Exam Scheduler once your application is submitted and your payment is received. How do I purchase the CVNP-BC or CVPA-BC Level IV Certification Exam? PAY HERE When and Where Can I Take the Exam? The Level IV CVNP-BC or CVPA-BC Level IV Exam is available most days of the week and weekend, excluding major holidays. You may take the exam from your home computer or at an ABCM approved testing facility. Online Exams are less expensive than testing at a facility. We provide a list of testing sites to you should you prefer to go to one of these locations. The fee across the board for a Testing facility is $75 on top of your Exam fee of $429.95. Computer Requirements for the Exam: Check to see if your Computer has a built in Webcam, most do. If not, you may purchase a $10-$15 external Webcam and connect it to your computer. Be sure to open your Webcam before logging into the exam. Which Browser Should you use for the Online Exam? Try not to use the Internet Explorer to access the CVNP-BC or CVPA-BC Level IV Exam. If you have Firefox or Google Chrome, use one of them to log in. Microsoft no longer supports the Internet Explorer. How Many Questions are in the Online Exam? There are 175 questions in the online Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Board Certification Exam. How Much Time is Allowed for the Exam? 4 hours; the an average time spent by Examinees is 2.5 to 3 hours. What is the Passing Score for the Exam? A score of 70% is required to pass the Exam. When will I receive the results of my Exam? Immediate scoring is available as soon as you submit your Exam. You will be able to print a temporary Certificate which is not valid, it simply proves you passed the Exam. Your original will arrive in the mail within 2 weeks of your passing the Exam. What if you do not Pass the Level IV Exam the first try? You will be allowed to take it a second time for a fee of $150. After that you will have to pay the full fee for your third try.
