Re-Certification Process | Cardiac Medicine Certifications

Attention:  Submit your recertification application a month early to prevent a lapse in your certification; the process takes 10 business days for completed applications, but can take 30 days longer if the application is incomplete.   Incomplete applications will meet delays.

  • How to Re-certify your cardiac medicine certification?
The American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine, will assist you in the re-certification process painlessly. In order for this to happen, you will need to follow the three steps outlined below.

  • It is important to start the process about two or three months before your current certification expires. This time frame is ideal in case you are missing any information on your application requiring correction. When there is missing information, your application will be delayed. Follow these three steps to ensure the application process is done efficiently and expediently:

Step 1- Make your payment on time online or by check payable to ABCM, Inc. for $125.

Follow the link below for Exam A, B, or C, whichever is appropriate to make your online payment.  If paying by check, make payable to ABCM, Inc. mail to P.O. Box 5929 Sun City Center, FL 33571.

Step 2- Complete our re-certification application for your new Certificate by following the appropriate link below.

Step 3- NEW POLICY FOR CE SUBMITTING:  You may now scan your CE documents by email; send copies to Jonni Cooper at jcooper@abcmcertification.com for approval.

You may also elect to send in paper copies and if you do, gather all of your Cardiology CEs or CMEs obtained over the past three years, and make copies to send to ABCM (keep your original).  Mail the copies along with your recertification application to ABCM, Inc., P.O. Box 5929 Sun City Center, FL 33571.  You can include a check for payment or you can pay online.

  • CEs or CMEs in List Format:
We need actual copies of the certificates you received at the completion of your study in cardiology.  If all you have is a list format to submit from a major conference such as the AHA, ACC, ACCN, AACN, ACCVNP, etc, do send it in for consideration; keeping in mind that it must contain the CE providers name, State Board CE provider number, date of course or event, and the number of CEs awarded.

  • CEs or CMEs Accepted from Degree Programs:
If you have recently attended a BSN, MSN, or NP course, feel free to submit transcripts by email for consideration. We will extract those topics considered useful for Cardiology credits.

  • All CEs or CMEs submitted must have the CE providers name, State Board CE provider number, date of course or event, and the number of CEs awarded, in order to be considered for approval by ABCM, Inc.
