General Information for Potential Exam Candidates:
The American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine (ABCM) provides sub-specialty Board Certification opportunities to all Cardiology professionals from the Cardiologist reading on the Hospital's ECG/EKG panel, to Emergency Physicians, to Cardiac Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, to Cardiac Nurses, to CMTs and ECG/EKG Technicians.
Cardiovascular Nursing Certifications
Two Levels Available:
1) CVRN-BC Level I - Non-Acute Care "Cardiovascular Nursing Exams" for Telemetry, PCU, Post Procedure, Cardiac Rehab, and office-based staff. This Exam provides the foundations that build on higher levels of practice and is a great exam for all Cardiac Nurses at any level of practice. Nurses that work in more acute settings, may bypass the CVRN-BC Level I Exam and go straight to the CVRN-BC Level II Exam. And nurses who already hold their CVRN-BC Level I are being offered a discount to take the CVRN Level II Exam.
2) CVRN-BC Level II - Acute Care Cardiovascular Nursing Exams for CCU, CVICU, Interventional, and Cath Lab Nursing, Transplant Units, Heart Failure Clinics; in general, all acute care Cardiac Nurses.

Cardiac Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Certifications
1) CVNP-BC or CVPA-BC Level IV - Developed for General Cardiology Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants working in Clinics and Hospitals.

1) Advanced ECG - For Physicians, Cardiology Fellows, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners with Advanced
12-Lead reading skills
2) 12-Lead ECG - For MD, Cardiology Fellows, PA, NP, RN, ECG Technician, Paramedic/EMT
3) Basic ECG - For PA, NP, RN, Medical Students, Cardiac Monitor Technician, ECG Technician, Paramedic/EMT
